The Experience

Dedication to details, it's what we do !!!

We take great pride in providing only top quality service to our clients and presenting them with the opportunity to take home a Trophy Eastern Canadian Moose. It is our philosophy that a quality hunt can only be achieved by attention to even the smallest of details. Your hunt, from the initial pick up to the final drop off, is meticulously planned.

Your hunt will start on a Sunday morning with pick up in Deer Lake by one of our friendly staff. Then its a  short shuttle ride to the helicopter hanger where all necessary paper work , licensing and final details are sorted out . Once completed, the next step is a 20 min helicopter flight to one of our camps . Our pilots utilize a modern fleet of jet helicopters and are highly trained professionals who know the complexities of operating in remote areas. Once there  you will be greeted by your guide who is assigned to you for your week stay. Because there is no Sunday hunting during the time of your hunt the rest of the day is spent settling in and perhaps a short scouting trip . In the last couple of years we have revamped each of our four locations and all feature new wooden platforms and tents. As well, each location is equipped with generated electricity, a hot shower facility and satellite phone. Your comfort and safety, even in the back country, is important to us.

A typical day starts in the predawn hours with a hearty breakfast and departure from camp at daybreak. Depending on the weather, physical conditioning and your method of hunting, your guide will have determined where best to focus your hunting efforts. Our territory is made up of  primarily sub alpine ridges with wooded valleys interspersed. Most of our hunts take place in the open country where spot and stalk is the preferred method of hunting,...especially for our rifle hunters. On bad weather days or if you are a bow hunter the hunts will focused in the timber of on its fringe. Because your hunt takes place around the annual rut calling is very effective. Much of the country is covered with "Newfoundland bog", ideal habitat for trophy moose but challenging for the hunter. The barren ridges and abundant berry bushes attract many large black bears and a bear tag in your pocket is a must.

It is normal for a hunter to see in excess of 30 moose per day ( weather permitting) and opportunities for harvesting a Trophy animal is a daily occurrence.    We currently boast a 100% success rate  on opportunity for trophy moose. Our  continuing commitment to managing our concession for Trophy moose has resulted in an almost unprecedented opportunity to hunt virgin territory for game that has had no hunting pressure. We frequently rotate our hunting locations to avoid over harvesting.

Your hunt comes to completion with a return trip by helicopter . Once landed, a staff member will be there to pick you up and return you to your place of lodging. It is during this time that any assistance in caring for your trophy and meat will take place .

Our package include 2 x 1 guiding, meals, accommodations, helicopter to and from, hunting license, meat and trophy care. and includes taxes. Bear tags are available for an additional price. 1 x1 guiding is available for an additional fee.
